NEW YORK, NY, March 01, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Footage Foundation (Footage) invites the public and media to a two part dialogue entitled “Gender Equity through Dialogue: Feminist Models of Compassionate Actions and Diplomacy”. This NGO CSW/NY parallel event is part of the 68th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations.

In part one of our two part dialogue event we will share Footage’s innovative feminist approaches and a decade of public diplomacy. We aim to catalyze compassionate action for gender equity for young women survivors of forced displacement and violence, and their communities. Part two unites a panel of speakers to share insights on ways we might implement and/or integrate feminist foreign policy, peace and security, and diplomacy to advance equitable action with the communities we serve.

Dr. Kristen Ali Eglinton, Co-founder and Executive Director of Footage Foundation says: “We are honored that NGO CSW/NY selected Footage to present our award-winning work during this important annual event. As gender-based violence and displacement rise alongside global tensions, Footage provides a platform to elevate the grassroots voices and experiences of young women affected by these pressing social challenges. We are committed to driving forward the UN Sustainable Development Goals by listening to young women, raising their voices and cultivating their compassion and leadership. We hope that you will join us in this dialogue which is crucial if we are to deliver social change for a safer world.”

About Footage Foundation: Footage is a U.S. based feminist organization raising voices to elevate lives through creative research, wellbeing interventions, and advocacy—all advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Footage has received ten Public Diplomacy awards from the U.S. Department of State to design and implement programs focusing on women and violence primarily in the Post-Soviet region. A nonprofit organization founded by PhD colleagues at Cambridge University, Footage uses narrative and expressive approaches empowering young women around the world to connect as agents of social change. Our programs provide connection — a community for young women on the frontlines of gender inequality where their ideas matter and their voices count. We focus on forced displacement and gender-based violence and believe compassion and connection are as important to sustainable development as food and water.
