SAN ANTONIO, TX, January 16, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Brave Coalition Foundation which stands for Breast Restoration AdVocacy and Education (BRAVE), a San Antonio based nonprofit is pleased to announce the appointment of two new board members – Ms. Loren Marie MPH, PA-C, a board-certified Physician Assistant at Texas Dermatology, and Mr. John Wyatt, Regional Business Director, BioD at Integra LifeSciences.
Loren Marie, MPH, PA-C, brings over 24 years of clinical medical experience and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health. As a cancer patient survivor and medical provider, she is uniquely qualified to support breast cancer survivors requesting BRAVE support.
“As a breast cancer survivor, I know first-hand the financial and emotional challenges survivors can face during their breast reconstruction journeys. I was the recipient of the great support BRAVE provides to survivors, from educational resources to an incredible network of caring professionals. And I am honored to join the BRAVE Board and give back to other survivors that are navigating a frustrating and broken reimbursement process during one of the most frightening times in their lives.”
John Wyatt’s experience in breast reconstruction products, industry needs, and awareness of opportunities for improvement in the breast reconstruction sector for breast cancer survivors not only benefits BRAVE, but his experience will benefit the women BRAVE supports.
“I have spent my career in the breast reconstruction business and am passionate about education, restoration, and advocacy for breast cancer patients. Several of my close friends and family members have been impacted by breast cancer, and it is my great pleasure to bring my knowledge and expertise to BRAVE as it supports breast cancer survivors by empowering every woman to determine how she wants to reshape her recovery regardless of insurance, socio-economic status, education level, or race.”
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and only around 30% will receive breast restoration rights and options. The addition of Loren and John to the BRAVE board can only help more women navigate this part of their breast reconstruction journey.
