Sydney Strickland is licensed to practice in both Georgia and Alabama. She received her law degree from the University of Alabama after completing her undergraduate studies at Ole Miss. While at the University of Alabama School of Law, Sydney studied criminal law and criminal defense under the current Executive Director and Attorney-in-Chief of the Federal Defenders of New York and earned top honors for her work in Alabama’s criminal defense clinic.

After graduating from law school, Sydney worked as a Staff Attorney at the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals on various cases, including appeals from criminal, post-conviction, civil rights, and employment decisions and petitions for review from the Board of Immigration of Appeals.

Leigh Ann Webster obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 2007. She then attended Harvard Law School, where she helped prepare successful applications for asylum at Harvard’s Immigration and Refugee Clinic.

After graduation, she began working as a Staff Attorney at the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, where she worked on many cases, including appeals from criminal, post-conviction, civil rights, and employment decisions. She also addressed petitions for review from the Board of Immigration Appeals.

Leigh Ann is also a founding board member of Witness Change, an organization dedicated to documenting seldom-addressed human rights abuses through photography, journalism, and academic research.

Leigh Ann Webster has been selected to the Rising Stars 2020-2023 list from Super Lawyers. Both she and Sydney Strickland received the Leeza R. Cherniak Award of the Sword. The award is given to a criminal defense attorney each year in recognition of “consistent valor in the face of adversity, heroism in defense of others, and commitment to the cause of justice.”
